How do I know I qualify for Immigration?
SkillsMeridian has retained an immigration specialist who will complete an initial assessment and determine whether you will qualify. We will be able to assess once you submit your resume and complete the initial questionnaire.
How do I learn more about living in Canada?
Check out the links on our website to start (HYPERLINK TO Links)
We can also put you in touch with people who have already moved from your country.
How much does it cost?
SkillsMeridian does not charge candidates fees for placing them with employers, however, you should be prepared for some costs to relocate. Costs include, Government of Canada’s immigration fees (http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/information/fees/fees.asp), legal fees, moving expenses, etc. Costs vary, please contact SkillsMeridian if you would like to learn more. Some employers may pay part of the expenses to relocate. This will depend on the company and the job offer.
If relocating to North American, am I expected to move permanently?
If you are being hired as an employee, the intent is to relocate “permanently”. Obviously, whether you choose to stay permanently is up to you. We ask you to think about making a 3-5 year initial commitment.
If it’s a contract position, it will typically be a minimum 6 months and more likely longer (ie. one year to eighteen months). Or, it could start as a 6 month contract that is extended.
People typically move to Canada and the US for better career opportunities with a great life style and for the education and healthcare systems.
What do I need to qualify?
Requirements vary and can change. In general though, you will need to have a post secondary degree or equivalent from a recognized institution, several years of relevant work experience (with references), no criminal record, good health and a strong desire to move your career forward and gain good international experience.
What is the Process?
We have developed a comprehensive recruiting process called “SAILS” >> Source – Assessment – Immigration – Landing – Success.
You will be required to submit your resume and complete an initial questionnaire. We will be assessing your education background, employment history, communication skills and interpersonal skills. We will also assess your ability and capability to immigrate.
If you qualify, you will then go through a series of interviews with SkillsMeridian, and then our Canadian employers. (Sorry, we know it’s detailed, but that’s because we help customers find the best candidates!). We will start the immigration process.
Once a company hires you and gives you a job offer, we will complete the immigration process.
SkillsMeridian looks after you every step of the way. We will assist you with the immigration process and help you relocate to Canada.
